The Labor Story

Everyone wants to know how it all happened so here goes:

The contractions started Monday evening around 6 pm and we headed to the hospital when they were 5 minutes apart around 9:00 pm. They said I was not progressing after they monitored me for a while and sent me home. Can you believe it? My contractions were 5 minutes apart and we live 45 minutes from the hospital. They sent me with a sleeping pill hoping I could get some rest but that did not happen. It made me kind of crazy and the contractions just kept getting stronger. We headed back sometime around 3 am, I think. All of that it is still a blur to me ! My water broke around 9 am on Tuesday morning and after about 1-2 hours of pushing we welcomed our little boy into the world! It was a rather long labor but wound not take it back for a minute.

Derrick was the best and he helped me through everything, every step of the way. I love him more now than ever as he has taken such good care of me and Lane. He loves that little boy so much already and is definetly OPP - ONE PROUD PAPA!!!
