Derrick surprised me with a mini vacation this last week. We went down to Pensacola, Florida for a few days to get away before school starts. Lane did so good in the car if someone was riding in the back with him. He was good the whole time. He loved swimming in the hotel pool, he would splash and kick. He wasn't crazy at the beach the 1st day. It was very windy and the surf was rough from the storm coming into Texas. It made it kind of loud with the waves crashing. The second day he eventually plopped himself down in the sand and let the waves come up to him. We went to the zoo one day and he loved feeding the ducks, fish, turtles, and goats. He laughed and laughed. He wasn't cranky at all he had such a good time!

It was cloudy part of the time but nice warm weather. The surf was pretty rough as you can see.
If you notice the red flag in the background, that was a warning to stay out of the Gulf.
